About kidPsych
Hi! I’m Shelina, owner and psychologist at kidPsych. My formal education includes a Masters of Education in School & Child Psychology and a Bachelors degree in Social Work. I am registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists and am a member of the Psychologists Association of Alberta. My 17 years of experience has included working with children aged 3-18 in various settings including public, private, and charter schools as well as private practice clinics. I am also a sessional instructor at the University of Calgary, teaching EDPS 652 (Academic & Language Assessment) to masters-level graduate students.
My professional interest and passion is in literacy. Personal interests include travel, baking (serious sweet tooth here!), reading, podcast walks, workouts, and board games. I love snacks and naps. I live in SE Calgary with my husband who is a teacher, which gives me additional insight into the classroom. We are also parents to our preschool-aged son, and we love watching him grow!
